Compensation for delayed flights
As of December 15, 2019, air passengers may be entitled to compensation if their flight is more than 3 hours delayed.
If a delay is within the airline’s control, the airline must provide you with relevant information about the reason for the delay, the compensation you may be entitled to as well as standard of treatment for passengers (food, beverages and accommodation, if needed).
The length of the delay and the size of the airline determines your compensation. You can find an overview of the different compensation amounts here.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are travelling to or from the European Union or travelling with an airline based in the EU, other rules may apply. Read more here.
